These are the lambs and sheep for sale. In our breeding program I am trying to create a diversity of fleece types, colors, and patterns while preserving good conformation and health.
We have our breeding groups for our 2013 Spring lambs. This year we have Jocko and Wink, Shaun and Monette, and Tanya and Lewis. They are all registered Shetland sheep except Tanya who is a 50% Gotland 50% Finn ewe. There are photos of the breeding groups here. We are taking deposits on the lambs. Please contact us by email at donnawh@earthlink.net for more information.
UPDATE: All of the lambs are spoken for this year, and this will be the last year we will be breeding Shetland sheep.
On April 9, our Gotland-Finn ewe, Tanya Tucker, lambed with twins. The first is above, a black ram lamb with white Gotland head markings. We are calling him Merle Haggard. He will be wethered and sold at weaning as a fiber animal for $75. RESERVED for Eliz.
Below is her second ram lamb, Waylon Jennings. He has the panda eyes and HST markings as well as some spotting. He will also be wethered and sold for fiber production for $75 at weaning. RESERVED for Eliz.
On April 12 Bing Bang Wink who had been bred to Bitterroot Ansel (AKA Jocko) delivered twin mioget lambs. Willy is the ram lamb. he has a white spot on the top of his head and prominent horn buds. He will be wethered and available as a fiber producing wether for $50. RESERVED for Matt and Jena.
His sister, Wonka, is also mioget but no white spots and no horns. She will be available as a ewe lamb at weaning for $200. RESERVED for Elizabeth.
On April 18 our Monette and Shaun had triplets. She had a black and white spotted ewe lamb we are calling Bette (below). She will likely fade to a light grey like her mother. She does have cute pheo coloring on her legs. She will be available as a ewe lamb for $200. RESERVED for Elizabeth.
Then she had a black and white spotted ram lamb we all calling Vette. He is darker than his sister and dark legs. He will also likely fade to a light grey. He will be available as a wether for $50. RESERVED for Matt and Jena.
Last she had a black ram lamb we are calling Velvet. He has a white spot on the top of his head but otherwise is black. He is not for sale.

Are any of these lambs still for sale? Esp interested in the ewe lamb. If so, can you tell me why you are selling her? Is she of suitable quality for breeding?, wool? What is her tempement? is she friendly?
Hi Donna,
This is Pat from the Maple Falls area, I got three of your lambs two years ago (and three others 9 years ago) hope you remember me.
First of all, thank you for your help in selecting these last three. You will not believe how friendly they are. The local vet cannot believe her eyes. When I sit down in the barn all three come up and stand on me wanting to be scratched all over! really amazing, but, that said, I have a question or two about something that “could” happen a year or two (or three) from now. My new wife and I are considering a move to Virginia to take advantage of living on property without a mortgage. My job here is secure so I don’t want to make a wrong decision and won’t for awhile. I have looked into stock trailers for transport but it is a four ten hour day drive across country. How do you think the sheep would do in such a situation? We love them so much we are actually making a life decision based on their well-being. I will probably stick it out here if it is just, too much…
The worst scenario would be to have to consider a move and not take them, we can’t imagine that especially since they are so friendly and loving. But if this happened do you have any suggestions on what I could do or where I would have to take them? It is painful to even ask this.
Anyway, you have an interesting blog and I will send you photos of the three soon. I even have a fourth who is now nine years old from the first group I got from you. She seems to be doing well.
Pray for sunshine this summer! good to be in touch, thanks for any advise, Pat 360 599-1130
Hi Pat. I sure remember you. I will email you privately with my suggestions.
An encouraging note re: traveling with sheep. In 2001, we moved our Shetland flock from New Hampshire to Eastern Oregon (30 ewes and 4 rams)…a similar distance to your anticipated move. We traveled in November, and so the sheep were comfortable and only had to deal with the stress of confinement for that time. We arranged hay bunks in the stock trailer, and watered the sheep in the evenings and at stops during the day. All arrived in fine fettle!
Great news. I hope Pat’s sheep traveled as well as yours did.
we are interested in your Shetland lambs. When would the best time to visit your farm be? We live in Stanwood so the it will not be that big of a trip.
Sincerely Michael
Hello Michael, I deleted your phone number in case you did not want all the world to see it. Our schedule is somewhat flexible. I worked the night shift last night so will call you when I wake up and see what we can arrange.
Donna
We are all set for Monday 3:00. I will call Sunday to verify times. Really looking forward to seeing your lambs. Of course these are for yard pets. Way to cute for anything else.
Sincerely Michael
will you have any lambs or sheep for sale?
Thanks Arlene
We do not but we will have lambs born later this month. I will post them as they are born on this page.
How big do these sheep get? Are they good grazers/brush clearers as goats are? Since goats and sheep are herd animals, do they have to be in a group, such as two or more, or can a person have one goat or one sheep?
Hi Leanne,
The Gotland and Cotswold cross sheep will get to be about 150#. They are good grazers but the problem is that thorns can catch in their wool and trap them. They do need to be in a group. It is not a good idea to have just one sheep and one goat.
Hi Schoonover Farm,
I am looking for two wether kids and possible a wether lamb. We own a small zoo and would like to add them to our petting zoo.
Are they friendly and suitable for this purpose? Please let me know if you have any available.
Hello Dee,
Some of our kids and lambs are friendly and others not. I will email you privately with more information.
hello,
I am wondering if you have any lambs for sale from this year and if you do, the price/color/ewe or wether. I have one ewe born april 2011 and want to have another shetland for company for her.
Thank you!
Hello Laurie,
We have a white Cotswold-Shetland ewe lamb (Lambikins) and a light brown Gotland-Finn-Shetland ewe lamb (Patsy) each available for $150. We have a mioget ram lamb available but I doubt you are interested in him. Our two black wethers sold yesterday (and I need to update our far sale page). Let me know if you have other questions.
