Christmas Eve 1969 and Farberware

This is a photo of me and the box for a Farberware Open Hearth Grill and Rotisserie.

It is exactly 50 years ago from this upcoming Christmas Eve.  I managed to inherit this grill after my grandparents passed.  I love it.  Here it is cooking a chicken in 2015.

We have also used it to cook sausages including at our Wassails.

There is a webpage dedicated to its use and problem solving.  And the manual for it is available there too.

So I was thrilled to find this photo of me with the original box.

OMG – we had one of those too, from the 70s! I “inherited” it when my mom moved back east (due to health issues). I was living with roommates for a while, and was planning to move back east too, so told one of my roommates that she could have it when I moved/left the state. She ended up moving out first (was kind of a contentious situation at the time), and took the Farberware when she packed and left! I ended up meeting my future husband and staying in Washington, but she still had the Farberware!

What a neat story! The grill looks great! We’ve never had one.
